From the Doghouse to the Penthouse…

As the first shelter in Colorado seeking Platinum LEED ® certification, PAWS for Life Animal Campus will raise the bar for animal shelters across the country.

By combining sustainable, green architecture with humane, caring treatment, our new campus will place more adoptable pets into good homes than ever before. And that’s good for everyone. After all, pets make people happy.  And with your help, we’re going to return the favor.

Help Us Help Pets

Here are just a few of the reasons why you should help us build the new campus...

PRIVATELY FUNDED, PUBLICLY LOVED.

  • The Animal Welfare and Protection Society (PAWS for Life) is a non-profit 501 (c)(3), privately funded animal shelter that does not euthanize healthy animals.  In other words, we’ll keep each furry friend until it’s adopted, unless it is in pain and becomes too ill to treat.  This is especially important for older dogs, who sometimes take a little longer to find their forever homes.
  • Last year, we adopted out 230 dogs; the new campus will help us triple that number.  Not only will your donation replace our 30-year-old building with a new environmentally advanced, pet-friendly facility, we’ll finally be able to take in cats, which is a huge plus for the community.
  • Last, but certainly not least, 100% of capital campaign donations will go directly toward building and operating the new facility.

GOOD FOR PETS, GOOD FOR PEOPLE, GOOD FOR THE PLANET.

  • Phase 1 of the 7.5-acre PAWS For Life Animal Campus will include a new environmentally advanced and sustainable 25,000 square-foot shelter, complete with administration offices and kennels for 150 dogs and 60 cats.
  • Future phases will include a Bark Park, Agility Course, Doggie Day Care Center and an Emergicare Vet Clinic.

GROUNDBREAKING DESIGN, ADOPTABLE RESIDENTS.

  • PAWS For Life has made a “green commitment” to becoming an environmentally friendly and sustainable organization.
  • Our new, one of a kind campus will help us achieve this goal, of a healthy, sustainable building that is good for the environment, the animals, and anyone who works in or visits the facility.

LEED CERTIFIED, ANIMAL-APPROVED.

  • LEED ® certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) provides independent, third party verification that a building project meets the highest green building and performance standards.  The shelter building is proposed to be built to the highest LEED ® Certification level of Platinum.
  • This rigid certification process by the U.S. Green Building Council will validate how our construction money is spent, and how it will guarantee the sustainability and cost effectiveness of our new facility.
