I was a charter member of Pueblo Animal Welfare. Because of my teaching and coaching demands, as well as being director of the City of Pueblo gymnastics program I put volunteering with any organization on hold for a number of years. When I retired from teaching I returned to PAWS for Life in 2009 as a volunteer and joined Paws Partners in 2011.

My undergraduate degrees are in physical education (gymnastics) and social psychology. My master’s degree is in art and design. My degrees are from University of Northern Colorado, and Colorado State University.

I continue to do art and design work and participate in a number of art shows throughout Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming.

I feel that I can be of most help designing posters, advertisements, etc. I enjoyed working on the 2012 ‘Posing for Paws” calendar and am excited to work on the calendars in the future. I have done the art work for the scrapbooks for the past 2 years.

My involvement with PAWS Partners was born through my love of dogs (and cats).  I am a Pueblo native, attended the university here, worked and retired early from the former telephone company,  US WEST.   Since then I have volunteered and served on various boards in a number of different ways, however,  nothing has inspired me more than the dedication I see here at PAWS for Life.  A pet is chosen to become part of one's family and that responsibility must be taken seriously.  I personally want to share with others the simple joy found through the love of a pet.

Joe Adamich

Joe Adamich a Colorado Native is an artist and paints in watercolors, pastels and acrylics. His work is in many permanent collections and displays a broad spectrum from city scenes and still life's to his whimsical portrayal of dogs.

He has always loved animals and grew up with dogs and cats. He not only appreciates the obvious qualities but the humor animals generate.

“Underdogs” are his favorite. Those animals that don’t get all the breaks in life. Mac, one of his favorites was a stray who adopted Joe. When he found Joe he had been throwing up tin-foil, had paint and cement in his fur and was pretty dirty, but with one look it was an instant connection.

He has always had a soft-spot for those animals. Working as a Partner for PAWS is his way of helping to give many of those “underdogs” a chance.

“The question is not, “Can they reason?” nor, “Can they talk?” but rather, “Can they suffer?”

As a farmer, I am surrounded by animals everyday and know the joy that they bring by just being near them. Any my own pets, two crazy cats, are like family to to me.
I look forward to working with PAWS partners to expand thier protective reach and to grow their already excellent outreach, training and fundraising efforts.
